I live approx. an hour (with traffic) away from Los Angeles. I’ve done so many interviews all over LA. Some of them went well enough where I expected to get it, but didn’t. I’ve graduated from college 2 years ago, and I’ve done four unpaid internships in LA since then. I’m comfortable with commuting, and whenever the interviewer asks about distance, I make this clear. However, I always get a hesitant vibe from the interviewer. I live with my parents, and I want to get a full time job before moving to LA. I never expressed this. Would this help if I tell an interviewer next time? My SiL, who’s a HR manager, told me to not tell an interviewer this because it’ll make me appear young. It’s the one thing that I haven’t tried though.
