Interview Scheduling is driving me crazy...

Just want some feedback here. I passed the first round of screens and made it to in-person interview (which would involve cross-country travel, paid by company). HR rep asked me to provide some availability and on Jan 23 I said Feb 6/7 and 13/14 would work for me.

I heard nothing back until Jan 31 - HR said they were trying for Feb 7 and would follow up Monday. After no response, I checked in on Tuesday. HR said let’s look at Feb 13/14 since it was “already Tuesday.” I said the 14th was still open, but asked her to confirm by 2/6 either way. I also mentioned that since this was a panel interview, she could poll the team for their availability and let me know.

Nothing. HR followed up on 2/12 to see what availability I had next week, and apologized for the delay. I said the 21st works; today I learned that doesn’t work for the team, so I offered up the 20th although I didn’t want to spend three days OOTO (with trace) on short notice for this.

Now waiting to hear back. I’ve never experienced this much back and forth to schedule an interview. In my last long distance interview, the job offered me the date (a little over a week in advance), and it happened to work for me. I was more eager to leave that job, though, so I could be biased. I feel like it might have worked better if I were provided a few dates (with more than a week notice) and could move things around to accommodate that. Is it just me or is this odd? Am I being inflexible?
