Sooo I applied for a financial analyst position in Philadelphia. I’m from here. I just graduated college with a finance degree in December from penn state.
I got an interview with the HR manager and she asked me so many questions last week about 10 days ago. She said the manager will call me next week when he reviews the resumes for the candidates if he likes you or not and thinks you’re fit for the job. Well he emailed me yesterday, 9 days later, and he said he’d like to talk to me for a phone interview and I freaked out. I made it to the second round! He interviewed me today at 2 PM.
The interview was so weird and not what I thought at all. I wrote down all these interview questions and was so prepared but he didn’t ask me anything professional at all. ALL he asked me was “what do you know about the company” I answered briefly and we continued for 20 minutes to talk about Philadelphia, the weather, and vacations. He told me he’ll email me next week for the next steps from here.
When I got off the phone my parents were like sooo how was it?! I said honestly, I couldn’t tell ya. It just felt like a chat with a friend lol. Idk what this means and why this interview was a little too casual but I need help. What do you guys think? Idk what to think? did I completely fail at the job? I asked him 4 of my questions I had written down that you should as the interviewer to kinda get feedback about culture and the companies goals. That’s about it. Please someone help!!
