So back in August, I accepted a position that was supposed to be a systems engineer job. Unfortunately, it was not, and long story short, it was an absolute nightmare. Fortunately my old employer accepted me back after I told them it was an awful experience. I decided to just focus on finishing school.
Today, after 6 months of just focusing on my job and school and graduating, I decided to give it another go. This time, being more patient, not accepting an offer just because it was an offer, tailoring my resume and cover letter more towards positions I want, and putting in more effort by actually reaching out to HR if at all possible to get contacts and networking.
One thing I observed in my last search was that I mostly got interviews for having both a resume and a cover letter. I also learned I had too much information on my resumes (4 pages), so when the interview came along, no new information from my end was discussed. Consequently I believe this led to all the rejections after interviews.
