I'm a US citizen living in Australia. I moved here right after I graduated from a US college in late 2019. I basically moved out here to travel and be with some family members after college to unwind and see the world. I've been applying to jobs back home for months but I have gotten next to no responses for my applications, even when I stopped indicating that I'm in Australia early on. Is there a way for applications to see that I'm applying from here via my IP address or something, and causing them to reject my resume? I've gone through multiple revisions of my resume and cover letters with peer review to hone them and nothing has changed. I'm planning on returning in May, will I fare better applying locally?

Does applying to US jobs from abroad hurt my chances of getting an interview?
