I don't know what else to do and I can't afford a career coach. I've applied to several jobs for the past month or two that I feel I'm qualified for (entry level systems engineering jobs, IT jobs), but I'm not getting any responses. I used this resume template that somebody else used on Reddit since it seems it helped them quite a bit.
Is there too much on the resume? Are my qualifications lackluster, even for an entry level position? Sock it to me please.
Also to explain the huge jump in job roles, I went from being a systems engineer to a PCA because I started the SE job straight out of college, had little to no training and had no work-life balance. On top of the technical work, I traveled all over the country to train folks on the system. The pay did not reflect the amount of work I did and I was the only one pulling my weight (which meant I got ALL of the responsibilities, hence me becoming lead implementer in under a year into the position). It was also an extremely rough year for me because my mom was diagnosed with cancer and it was hard to deal with. I was extremely picky with looking for jobs at first, until the stress and depression was too much and I basically took the first thing I could find that I felt I would somewhat enjoy. I realize now that the company I was with was just horrible, and I shouldn't expect that from other companies, at least to the extent that I had to endure.
I feel like I've hit a wall... I want to get back into any SE or technical role, I miss it.
Any advice would be deeply appreciated.
