Ok looking for your opinions. I found out a director position was opening at my office. I’ve been a loyal and excellent employee for 6 years. I played golf with the president of my company and told him my interest in the position. A month or two later he asked me if I was still interested and I told him yes. He stated I was well liked by the practice and the partners would discuss it. I also mentioned how I was currently perusing my masters in healthcare management. He stated that he knew of this. I emailed our current director and asked if the company would help with my masters tuition and she emailed me back saying the president agreed to pay for all of my schooling. I’m thinking I am a shoe in at this point, but to my surprise I found the job posted for the director position on an online job site. Nobody mentioned this to me. I applied to it and since it has been taken down. No interviews have taken place for anyone and nobody is saying anything to me about it. My current director didn’t even mention he saw I applied (even though I saw he viewed my application through my alerts on LinkedIn). Should I be concerned I’m being broadsided and passed over for the job or do you think I’m going to get it? It’s been really bothering me lately. Any advice is appreciated.
