I've been at my current company for 2 years as a healthcare consultant. I work on a very small team and we lead or assist on large scale projects/programs for the company. The company is a relatively small but pay/perks are good and I get alot of respect from my peers and higher ups. Here are some Pros & Cons:
- Pros
- Benefits are great (6% 401k match & work from home benefits)
- Work is 1 mile from home
- Coworkers are nice/no drama or politics at work
- Side note: my only 2 coworkers are newer to the company and have only been on the team for 6 & 4 months respectively
- 2 raises a year until I hit the mid-point of my salary (company specific practice)
- Work is relatively easy for me and stress-free
- Cons
- I was lowballed on salary when I started. 2 year avg salary for my position is 95k
- Over the next few months I'll be required to handle a lot more work responsibilities (can't go into detail here)
- The company is 4-5 years behind on the technology side. It's hard to implement change and most of my ideas get shot down because we physically can't do it.
- I feel like I can't learn anymore in the roll as work has become extremely easy for me
I recently interviewed for a position at a Fortune 100 company as a healthcare operations lead at one of their innovation hubs. This is a role that could launch my career if I do well. The team is alot smaller than my current team, but there's alot of room to grow and develop new skills. The company has alot of technology and data analysis that I can leverage to do my job quicker and efficiently, not like my current job. As a side note, I'll be going to business school part time and my current company can help pay 5k a year while the new one only pays 3k a year.
HR from the new company let me know the job is currently mine pending a background check. 95k was the salary I asked for so I'm assuming there will be some wiggle room to negotiate and get a starting bonus/more salary/PTO.
Given that information, should I stay or go?
