I was just offered a management role at a respectable company, I currently am just an administrator but have been on the same salary for 2 years with a huge increase in responsibility and workload I'm well overdue a pay rise as it is but have struggled to approach asking as with the nature of the industry my boss plays hard ball when it comes to money. Saying that there is no logical reason as to why a pay review would be rejected. I started looking for work elsewhere as I struggle with the office culture, lots of backstabbing, poor management, unprofessionalism etc and I'm certain I want to move somewhere else. After a long search finally I have been offered this great role with lots of room for growth in a smaller company that is growing at a very rapid pace. Only issue is they have offered me 7k less than the figure I had in my mind and 5k less than what I currently earn. How can I approach negotiating without blowing the deal when they have offered me a salary that won't be enough for me to be able to live with? I hardly get by as it is..
