How to stop a union and save my job

Hello all. I just posted this in r/legaladvice in hopes of getting as much advice as possible.

Tl;dr: a union is forcing itself into my company which will most likely lead to many of us losing our jobs- what can we do?

I am located in NY.

I work for a private sector nonprofit organization in a large U.S. city; this place has many different programs that serve children and families in our area. The program that I work in has a contract with a city agency, so although we are full-time employees of our company, we are contracted employees and our jobs are dependent on whether this contract is all good. Yesterday, my entire program (approximately 50 people) were all gathered together in a conference room and we were informed by the CEO of our organization that a very large and powerful union has been trying to unionize the positions in our program. We were shocked as we were never approached by the union to ask us if we even wanted to join. Our CEO said that the pay structure that the union is demanding is not possible for our company to uphold. Basically, this would mean that our company would not be able to afford to keep the contract that it has with the city agency- resulting in us losing our jobs.

Now, this union has filed a class-action grievance against our company for not agreeing to the terms of the union and letting them in. The union head has been refusing to meet with our CEO and when they finally did meet last week in a heated confrontation, the union head basically said that although they can choose to drop the grievance, they will not. When the CEO asked, how can you continue pushing this when people can lose their jobs? the union head said "we want members."

We know that the administrators, directors, managers, etc. are not permitted to have any involvement in this union activity, but we as "line staff" so to speak are the ones who would directly be pulled into this union. We want to do something to stop this and to save everyone's job. We are all against it as we love working for our company, get great benefits, and want to keep our friggin jobs. And furthermore, we never even asked for this union or showed a smidge of interest in it, and they are now filing a grievance on our behalf which is just infuriating.

Two of my coworkers and I contacted the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation today and were able to schedule a phone call tomorrow with an attorney. They specifically handle cases of forced unionization. We also plan to sign a petition and present it to the union head at some point soon.

I ask you all, is there anything else I should know or anything else we can do to get this union off our zipper and keep our jobs? Anything you recommend I specifically ask the attorney tomorrow?

Thanks everyone.
