Im fed up with firefighting. Should I just quit?

Not sure if this is the right subreddit for this, if not leme know!

I wont go into why Im fed up with firefighting, it's a long story, but I just am.

Have any of you ever just left a job with no direction? I mean my wife and I just bought a house and had a baby, who is only several weeks old. Also, being a firefighter is really the only skillset I have. However, I see people saying all the time, "quitting my job is the best thing ive ever done!" I just dont see how going in there and putting in my 2 weeks is going to make me happier. I mean it would feel great, but the benefits dont outweigh the negatives that would occur after quitting AND I still wouldnt have the job I want, which is to be a TSA K9 Handler. You have to be a police officer first, which requires time and training before any money is made. Which I imagine going to a police academy would be nearly impossible to do if youre working a 24/48 shiftwork schedule. Any advice?
