Moving on from sales

I have been in sales for over a decade, I am burnt out. Sales has been my only career since college, so I feel stuck in this role that I have grown despise. When i was a single guy it was easier to deal with the stress and pressure, but now with a wife and two kids its becoming harder and harder and certainly not enjoyable.

I am looking for some advice from someone who made a career change out of a pure sales role.I'd love to hear any experiences you may have. I have worked with recruiters in the past and in my experience they are always looking to place you quickly and move on, not necessarily give career advice, which I totally get.
