I'm a recent college graduate living at home with a degree in English and Philosophy (I know, I know), and am trying to figure out my future, so to speak. I'd like to go to graduate school, potentially next fall, but nothing's set in stone yet, so who knows. I'm working part-time right now, but I want something... new.
I don't hate my job, but I don't love it either. I've been thinking a lot about what I value in life recently, especially after some family struggles we've been going through lately, and I've come to realize that I want to be able to spend as much time at home with my parents and other extended family as possible. With my part time job, I'll obviously have more overall time at home, but my hours right now are kind of janky and I'm often out of synch with the rest of my family. I think a full-time job with more consistent, 9-5ish hours would not only give me the opportunity to be with family more, but would also have the added benefit of more money and real world experience. Only problem is, I don't really know what I'm looking for.
I love writing, editing, and research, and if I could go back to school right now, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I don't know anything about copywriting or copyediting, but I'd love to learn, and I think I'd be really good at stuff like that. I'm in a pretty good place financially right now, so while money definitely matters, it's not necessarily at the top of my list.
I know this is probably a pretty vague post, I just feel kind of lost. If anyone has any info on writing/editing/publishing jobs and how to look for them, that'd be awesome, or if anyone has any other types of jobs that might be worth looking into more, that'd be cool too. I don't really know much about job hunting resources, so any advice in that field would be awesome as well
