Well, I say left, but still have yet to submit my two weeks. I work as a line cook and while the job is easy and I love my coworkers, management has been entirely unsupportive with career growth or raises. They keep saying the yearly review is coming but nothing happens. Union this union that.
I'm tired of this thankless position where no matter how much you work management has something to complain about. Management is toxic and doesn't give a crap about our well-being.
I'm done. So I applied for a job in tech support that pays nearly $2 more an hour. Got the job. 14 weeks of paid training and benefits after 60 days.
I'm well aware of the negatives of this kind of job. But I'm looking to get into tech anyways and think the experience will be good. I've worked in an outbound call center before and figure it can't be much worse than that.
Plus, if it doesn't work out I can find another kitchen.
