I’m interviewing for a different/higher position at the company I’m currently working for.
In the position, they occasionally offer overtime, and sometimes it’s mandatory.
At the position I’m currently in, overtime is rare, they’ve only offered it once throughout a span of a few weeks and it was optional. I declined to work that overtime because I didn’t really need to (or want to lol)
The thing is though, could this potentially hurt my chances with getting this other position? I didn’t think about this until recently. If they ask about potentially working overtime in my upcoming interview and why I didn’t work the overtime when it was offered in my current department, what should I say?
