Some context:
I started working at a local pizzeria as a cashier about 4 months ago. About a month ago, an idea came to me to propose redesigning our website (it is just a plain text site with a pdf of our menu). At the same time (completely coincidental), I was taking an online digital marketing certificate, and I realised I could use what I've been learning to better promote the business online. I used a website builder to make a prototype and during my shift I pitched the idea to my boss and I also told him about my certificate and plan. He loved it and he promoted me on the spot, saying that I can become the head of the pizzeria's marketing efforts. The exact details of the promotion are still being discussed, but it hasn't been stated what exactly my official job title would be. My boss said it is up to me to decide what I call myself, but I haven't been able to find an exact title so far and I'm more worried about having a misleading title on my resume that can misrepresent my actual abilities to future employers above all else.
My responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the pizzeria's website (Google Sites)
- Set up and maintain business emails, storage,...(Gsuite)
- Create and distribute promotional materials both online and offline (Canva, Google Ads,...)
- Post content on official social media accounts (Snapchat, Instagram,...)
The work will take place outside of my shifts, so I'm keeping my position as a cashier on top of the promotion to "marketing head".
