What is the best degree to become a lab technologist?

I'm one year into a science associates and intended to do a bachelor's in biology. I was thinking of medical school when I started out, but now I think I'd like to work in a lab. My college has a med lab tech program but it doesn't transfer beyond the general studies classes I already took. I don't want to block off any future path in case I end up revisiting the med school idea, but I don't want to have a worse shot at getting a lab job either. Advising hasn't been too helpful.

Most job ads seem to specify the med lab tech associates degree or any medical/biology/science/chemistry bachelor's. I suspect I'd make more of I did the biology route anyway. Does anyone here have insight to this field, or the usual degree progression? Thanks.
