I quit my job and gave a month notice. Should I get paid for my remaining personal days and vacation days?
I talked to our HR manager today and she said that no we don’t do that (get paid for those) unless you get fired. So I asked if I could just extend my actual days remaining so I could get paid for the days (so still leave end of June but have these days put in for first week of July) and she basically said no (because it wouldn’t look good to the company if I ever wanted to come back..?) - and now we have someone new starting in my position on June 24th.
I told them just a little over two weeks ago that I was going to leave the company at the end of June. To be honest, I was being nice, I thought, giving them a month notice.
I have 8 personal days left which I accumulated over time. You get 4 a year.
and I’m confused about the vacation days because.. in January they give us 15 vacation days and they are already available in the our system to use, and according to her, though, since it’s only halfway through the year and I’m leaving, I should only be “able” to have used 7 by now.... and I used 8. So she said oh, we can switch one of your vacation days to a personal day. So, I had 9 personal days that I haven’t used, but now it’ll be 8, I guess, if she switches that one day.
Does this sound like BS to any of you? Or is this how it should be? Or it all just depends?
I know we use a system called isolved.
I have been working there for 3.5 years.
Thank you so much.
