Not me, but my husband. Currently has a contingent offer that he's stoked for (and so am I!). Only thing is he is having trouble with the background check. There's a position he worked part time during college to pay tuition at a mom and pop shop as a repair tech. Not a career at all, he was maybe 19. Long story short, the shop moved locations during his time there (change of address) AND a year or so ago the owner sold the shop which then changed its name. The BG check co is making him jump through hoops trying to verify this piece of (really unimportant) employment history. They are asking for his W2's which he does not have (again, 19, he didn't really think much of keeping track of tax docs). What can we do in this situation? We are going to try requesting them from the IRS and pay the fee, but Lord knows how long that will take. Any advice is appreciated.
