I'm doing part-time freelance work for a company, and I've been encouraged to apply to a full-time position that is opening up. How do you write a cover letter when the hiring manager is already your supervisor? Writing it the way I usually would feels overly formal and silly, especially since this supervisor is very familiar with my work.
