What does it mean when an employer says that you were not a good fit, laid off after 2 months of working ?

Laid off work after 2+ months of working for small company (~15 employee), it was a 3 months for probation and then get benefits.

Was fired, and the reasoning was given was I was not a good fit for company. Asked if it was because of my performance and if their is anything I can do to improve and they just said No, I was just not a good fit.

What does it mean ? how should I find out what this means ? what should I do now ? Should I include this job (my first essentially in this industry) in my future resume ? If not, what would I do with the gap in my resume ?

My performance was not the problem.
