I started working here at the hotel inn just over two weeks ago, and I really hate it here. Its a really stressful, lonely, and isolated job, and the hours are far too much for what I had in mind (I recall asking for 30 and "maybe more," having in mind a kind of flexible schedule where I could maybe pick up more hours, but instead I'm working 5 days a week, and recently finished 6 days in a row.)
I just hate it here. One of my supervisors berate me (asking me, "what is wrong with you? You are the most confused person we've ever had.") I feel alone because most of the people here are Polish and they mostly stick together. Truth is, this is just the working world, but I don't feel like I can handle it. I get up at 6.30 every morning to go somewhere that makes me desperately stressed and isolated, with supervisors I hate (except 2) , to come home so tired I get nothing productive done for myself. Rinse and repeat.
I'm leaving the country on Monday to go see family abroad. I'll be gone for two weeks (they know this, and it was brought up in the interview), and I'm thinking of making tomorrow my last day, and handing in a two week notice (meaning I'd just never come back.) Thing is, I looked over the contract and it says all employees have to give a 4 week notice.
Should I give them a 4 week notice? Do I owe them as much? I'm not exactly some valuable member of the team who will be greatly missed.
