Whether to give resignation letter in person or through email?

Pretty much as the title says. I work as a caregiver, I've been with this company for about 9 months.

I'm ready to resign, as I've been offered a job somewhere that better aligns with my career goals, I just don't know if I should resign over email, calling the office before I send it over to let them know) or if I should go to the office and hand it in in person.

I very very rarely go to said office, as my job is one that's exclusively worked in our clients homes. That, and it's really far away from where I live.

If I have to, of course I'll go, but I'm not really sure if it's necessary, since I don't have much of a relationship established with any of the office workers or my immediate supervisor. I was thinking of calling my supervisor to let her know, and then send the email. I'd really like to know if this is okay to do? Thanks!
