Transitioning from Recruitment to HR, any tips/advice?

Hi All,

I presently work in recruitment (booo!) within a very niche field and absolutely love the people element of my role. I enjoy helping people, meeting people and ultimately, I like to get to know them and develop a professional relationship with them.

The element of my role that I strongly dislike is the whole champagne and daggers side of it and the fact that BD/Sales isn't really my biggest strength.

I have previously worked in a managerial position and loved the people management side of things and have always had a decent level of emotional intelligence, enabling me to assist people when they're struggling and also de-escilate problems within the workplace.

This had led me to believe that a role in HR would be ideal for me BUT I do not possess any professional qualifications in this sector.

Does anyone have any advice for me ahead of me searching for one of these roles? I'm prepared to step into a more junior post with lower pay to get myself kickstarted.
