I work as a full time pharmacy tech at Walgreens, I have no degree but 8 years of retail experience and 2 years in a hospital. I just finished EMT school and I’m applying to be a correctional officer but it won’t be anytime soon I’ll start that job. Right now I need a job to pay my bills.
I usually work 8 hours but 2 days I work 10 hour shifts. Every day when I want to eat lunch, my manager says I have to only take 10 minutes or I just flat out can’t go. She says because were busy and understaffed, but we’re always busy and there are no current open positions according to her. In my state (MA) im supposed to have a 30 minute break and a 15 minute break. I’ve never been offered either of those, and more often then not I’m forced to cut my 30 minute break in half.
I’ve been looking for jobs but I’ve had no luck. What do I do? Should I contact HR or someone else? I can’t keep working these 10 hour days without a break
