TL;DR: After a year of working at the one company, no benefits from offer letter have been given, including bonus/pay review. I have a meeting with my boss at the end of the week to run through my complaints. Am I out of line for being pissed?
Throwaway because why not: Last year, a recruiter accepted a job offer on my behalf, for $2k less than what I asked for but assured that I would receive a pay review on successful completion of probation. Luckily, I was reasonably happy with the compensation package (and the recruiter got fired a few months following this shitshow lol) as I was told via both the recruiter and the HR manager that I could expect a discretionary $10k bonus per annum and that this bonus was paid quarterly ($2.5k per quarter).
I flew through my probation period, have had nothing but praise from my boss and HR are seemingly delighted with me. During my probation period I brought up the pay review. Neither my boss or the HR manager seemed to know what was going on as that isn't part of their normal process (pay reviews are annually, not on a one off basis). The HR Manager said he'd look into it but he left the business quite suddenly shortly after. My boss hasn't mentioned it since.
I got a raise a month ago that's $90 off of my initial salary expectation. That feels pretty sore.
On top of that, I've had no bonus. My boss promised us one at Christmas and that fell through due to targets, promised us one at the start of the year that fell through to company performance and promised us another bonus for this month's paycheck but... it's been pushed to next month due to irregularities in cashflow or something.
I have a meeting booked with my boss on Friday, I'm prepared to quit and join a company that won't routinely get my hopes up. Tell me straight reddit -- am I overreacting by getting ready to quit?
