I messed up and forgot to mention my vacation to new employer

TLDR: Forgot to mention vacation happening in two weeks to pretty new job. What do.

So I started this new office job at a company in Orgeon around 2 months ago. A friend of mine hooked me up with the job, and I'm working as his assistant. It's pretty nice.

When I was being hired I let him know about a 1 week vacation that began 3 days after I started working there, and that was totally fine with him his boss.

I had also mentioned this upcoming labor day week vacation over text with my friend, but he seemed to have missed the message and I've neglected mentioning it mostly due to the fact that HE is taking a vacation the week right after mine, and I had already been on a vacation very recently.

We're on pretty good terms but I'm just worried about how his boss will take it. I think I'm still on the 60? day probation so I'm just worried about his reaction to me just springing this now.

My backup plan was to pretend to be sick that week but I think they can request a doctors note if over 3 days?

So my 3 decided options are: say I forgot about the vacation, pretend to be sick that 4 day week, or make up some other excuse as to why I cant be at work.

What do I do here? Am I an idiot?
