I’ve been in the job hunt for a while now. I’m expecting a couple offers in the next week. They’re both hourly pay, but both pay more than what I currently make in my salary job. Neither of the jobs are factory or construction jobs where I would potentially miss hours due to weather or shut downs.
I’m a little excited about having the opportunity to get paid for overtime, but everyone seems to view hourly work with a negative connotation. Is working hourly bad? Why or why not?
Edit, adding more info:
So currently I work a salary based job, however I never work less than 45 hours, so for my situation, the getting to leave when you finish type of work is inapplicable. I would potentially be moving to a job where hourly pay is more and I would be paid overtime. I’m just not sure if I should have any concerns about the hourly pay structure.
