Hi r/jobs!
First post. I currently live in Hawaii. I graduated college around a year ago with a BA in Economics (cum laude, 3.56 GPA, honor societies, all that jazz). I’m currently employed at a bank here doing commercial real estate documentation, got hired two months after I graduated. However it has always been my dream to move due to Hawaii’s insane COL and job prospects. I have made the decision to move to Texas, and have recently begun applying.
I am aware that most companies do tend to shy away from out of state applicants; how can I improve my resume/applications so that potential employers may be more receptive to my application? I am aware of putting “willing to permanently relocate to XYZ” on my resume but that’s about as far as I know.
The job prospects seem to be good and there are many positions which I believe I am qualified for based on education/some bank experience however I do feel a little discouraged as I am all the way in the middle of the pacific.
Thank you!
