My parents expect me to get a job where I can talk to other people and have good work hours. But they don't let me volunteer, so how can I gain experience and fill an empty resume? They say volunteering is a waste of time and nobody they know that's my age volunteers.
The are kind of ridiculous really. When I was younger, they don't let me do ANYTHING. They always do stuff for me because they say that I am bad at it and they are better at it. Well that's funny, how can I be good at stuff if you never let me do things myself? How can I be good at anything if I don't have any experience.
Even going out with friends is a hassle due to them always calling me and stuff. So I eventually stopped going out with friends.
And now that I am a grown-up adult, they complain that I can't do anything myself, I can't get a job, I am wasting their money and will forever be using up their money because I am selfish, nobody they know my age is this dependent and has no job?
Well I am not selfish, I've been trying to get a job, it's just that they won't let me get experience at all. They don't seem to under stand the fact that people don't magically get good at doing stuff and employers don't decide to hire people with nothing on their resume...
Especially my dad, he has never actually put any effort into getting a job. EVER. The first job he got was given to him because that's how the Chinese government worked. All the other jobs are from my mom asking other people to give him the job.
My mom is a little bit better at understanding me, but she doesn't seem to understand that I can't get a job just because I really want to. And my social skills are not as good as hers. So I am better off applying for a job, going to interviews, and wait for a job offer. She told me to get a boyfriend and make him help me, but that sounds ridiculous too. Because this is a bad reason to get a boyfriend.
So what are my best job choices for getting a job? To recap it has to be a job where I can talk to other people and it has to have a good working hour (no overnight jobs).
