Tl;dr: Working in a small consulting company. Will quit my job & hand in my 2 weeks notice tomorrow. Want to know what you people have experienced this in the past.
My story:
Currently working in a small consulting company for few months. Just passing my probationary period, but boss kept saying I haven’t added anything for the company.
I’m stressed the heck out all the time because: - I have to be on call 24/7, and if I reply a bit too late, my boss will shout at me the next day - My clients need time to think to make their decision and all that, boss kept pestering me to make the clients pay asap. I wish I could make them, but they have one reason or another to not pay. - My boss likes to bring up past mistakes when they’re no longer relevant. I say it’s irrelevant because they’d have shouted at me as soon as I’ve made the mistake and then would do the same few weeks down the line. - I cannot grasp the product knowledge as fast as my boss wanted me too. - I feel I have no one to rely on at work. I get it, it’s the nature of a sales job. I function well within a teamwork situation. - My mental health has been taking hit because the reasons above. Anxiety got so bad I vomitted thinking about not having clients. Cried myself to sleep for sometime now.
For these reasons, I’m planning to hand in my notice tomorrow. But, the thing is, my boss isn’t expecting me to quit because I am not showing any signs hinting it. I still do cold calls, my boss is assigning me to go on fairs, I asked for time offs in August, we still had banters yesterday, we have a social outing that I’ve arranged for my boss, another coworker and I in August, etc.
So I want to have an idea of what might to expect when I have the meeting tomorrow. Can’t do the meeting today as my boss isn’t in the office.
