Hey all,
I am currently working towards my degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. I'm trying to find ways to get ahead in terms of employability.
I know industry experience is a huge benefit for engineering jobs so I'm intending on doing a year in industry as part of the degree. However tons of students do this as well so I doubt it would make me look different from the crowd.
I am currently working towards an employability award that my university provides, which is designed to build soft skills, and I am considering taking some summer courses related to electrics (the main one I've looked at is a Pat test course, but that's due to student accommodation telling us everything needs to be pat tested in the house and wanting to charge us stupid amounts for it.) Is there anything else I can do/should be doing to make me stand out at the end of my degree?
TLDR: Engineering student trying to get ahead of the competition early.
