I've noticed a trend that is starting to grate on me with my boss. I work for a small privately owned business and its been about ten years since I started with them as a 20 year old. Over this period of time, I've started to understand why my boss's way of talking to me at times can rub me the wrong way. On occasion, she will criticize something that I've done, but then when I ask for clarification on how to better approach that particular situation, she will not have any suggestions or direction for me. This leaves me frustrated and anxious for prior instances where I will have to decide what to do on my own, because its difficult to know if I will be criticized for that as well.
Any advice on how to approach my boss with this topic? I would like to see if we can work this issue out of our boss/employee relationship, because I would rather not leave my job. On the same token though, I am starting to get fed up with being criticized in a way that is not at all constructive.
