Especially if you're dealing with a temp agency? I'm sure like other students out there, professors will not completely remember you and just try to give an overall positive impression of what a successful student learned in class. Of course I've asked them to be references and in the email guided them as to what to say.
Do recruiters even call references if it's an entry level position they really wan to fill? How much attention to they give to this?
