Best Trade Jobs Overall?

Ok, so first of all I am 16 about to turn 17, so I have about year before I can actually get an apprenticeship or anything like that. I am trying to get a feel for and figure out what I want to do, so I don't have to waste time out of high school. Basically, my question is what trade is best to learn, will be in high demand, makes good money, and that I would enjoy getting out of bed to do. I have a buddies dad that is a home inspector and that sounded interesting, but at the same time I want to keep my options open and that is why I am here.
