Let me introduce myself. I am a 24 year old draftsman looking for his first contract as such or an intership. I've been unemployed since (almost) ever. I got my first job in 2016. 3 months later I decided I'd be studying again for two years what in America is known as Associate's Degree; in Spain we call it "Grado Superior".
This is the second time that I have sent a mass mailing of my CV to all the companies in my area and I have hardly received a response, as the first time. The first time was in summer and I attributed my little success in that I had an unattractive CV, so I was looking at different models and I've been seeing a work counselor who has helped me a lot. In fact, she, whose husband is an engineer, thought it was a great idea to make a portfolio (an idea that I presented to her, since most architecture firms have one).
So I was from October to February making several plans of houses, shops... to include in said portfolio. This also has a dual purpose, because it allows me to have a CV different from my competitors (aka classmates) and so I can teach my skills in the programs we handle, such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD... Once this was done, it was time to change my CV design and change my self-promotion letter that I sent in the mail.
Meanwhile, I was on pages/apps like LinkedIn or InfoJobs, both to look for a job in my sector and any one that would allow me to have some money. Even so my efforts have been in vain, because in the mentioned apps there is hardly any work as a draftsman in my area, but of other works that have not called me.
I have sent my CV to architecture studios, construction companies and engineering companies. I'm not sure what I should do now, because if I sent the CV to all the companies in my sector and I have hardly had any answers, I do not know if my CV is still unattractive or that there is a lack of work. According to my country the construction sector is on the rise.
Besides my mobility problems because I do not have a car and I depend on public transport, I can not go to other bigger cities with more work because we have economic problems at home and rents are absurdly high (I'm not asking 90m2 for 200€, but charging 450 for 25 m2 is a lot) . So I'm wondering, what the fuck do I do now? I'm lost because I do not have a chance anywhere and I do not seem to be good for anything. There are still some companies to which I can send my CV, but I do not think it will do much good. I leave another link so you can see that I'm not lying when I say I have not sent any mail. Here I want to make it clear that among all the cities to which I have sent emails, there are less than a million inhabitants, so do not expect them to be many companies.
Off Topic but related:
I live in the south of Spain and to give you an idea if you are not from here, the Autonomous Communities aka States (to have a known reference) can be divided into several sub-states called "provinces". The provinces are divided into "municipalities", which is what is known as a city or town. Here a Wikipedia link in case you do not have it clear. When I say "zone" I want to refer to 6 municipalities in this case.
