Candidate: u/304147

He did pretty well. Online teaching can be a struggle, but he was able to connect with students and resolve the issues.
- Can you provide any outstanding examples of the candidate’s work? How long have you been familiar with the candidate’s work?
Nothing comes to mind. Wasn’t an instructor who was truly outstanding. He did a fine job but wasn’t outstanding.
- What are the candidate’s strong points?
Cares about teaching, cares about students and got some really good reviews from students. Good rapport with people
- What are the candidate’s limitations?
Could have been more proactive when issues came up and reach out to people when needed. Instead of asking for help, somethings things didn’t get done

Very caring about students and will go to great lengths to ensure their needs are met

Hard worker, no doubt about that. Puts time into preparations

Excellent
- How does the candidate compare to other teachers/students/student teachers you have worked with?
Solid teacher, not outstanding, still young in his profession with great potential

Not proactive when suggestions were made on how to improve instruction consistently
- Are there any other references we could contact?
Not that I can think of

From the get-go have very clear expectations and emphasize asking for help when you find yourself struggling. Keep lines of communication open.

How negative is this? This is not someone who I would put down as a reference. They're just a former supervisor that employers might reach out to. If you were hiring teachers how would you read this?
