I fucked up with my references

I got a job, a really cool one, and submitted a reference list that had two professional and two personal...

I’ve already been hired but now it’s a matter of checking off the boxes and talking to my references.

However, I didn’t say specify on the reference page who was a personal or professional reference, and my boss reached out to my personal ones, asking about my work history with them.

What do I do? Do I email my boss and say “hey I made a mistake these two are personal references.” Or do I just of pretend that my friend didn’t tell me she reached out?
