Quitting my job and terrified

Hey!

I’m new to reddit and need some advice! I have been working for about 6 months at this little shop. I took this job thinking it would be something to kill the time, but now it’s a mental drain and taking away from the attention and care I can give to my family.

So I want to quit. But I have what would be considered an essential role. It’s a very small business with only 5 employees. I have decided that I want to give them until the end of April. To help them through a busy time. But should I? When should I give notice? How should I give notice?
