Internship Offer Without In Person Interview?

I applied for an internship and got a phone interview, a few days later they called me and offered me a internship. Is it weird that they didn't have me come in for a in person interview? The company doesn't look shady at all it's actually pretty known, but why would they not bring me in first before hiring me?
