Currently working in Production Management/Supervision, wanting to go into Project Management?

Hi there,

I am currently working in a manufacturing company managing a production line of about 15-20 staff. I have been doing this role for about a year and a half now and am looking for change. After speaking to some friends they suggested Project management.

Has anyone done this before and if so, is it possible? I feel I have the skills to do it, like management of people and projects but limited experience on finances.
