What’s your experience with employee referrals?

I connected with a professional who works at my dream company on LinkedIn and just had a phone screen. She said she would be passing on my resume to HR and we’ll go from there. The phone screen went very well and we had a lot in common.

I’m anxious because this is for an internship and so far I had no luck. I’ve applied to over 200 positions since November and cold called people on Linkedin/email. I really want this job.

To anyone who has experienced getting a job via employee referral, how did it go, what was the process like and how long did it take from interview to offer?
