What should me "desired pay" be when I'm a recent graduate with a "useless" degree but a great employee?
So although my degree is not something that got me licensed to perform a particular job, I have two honors associates degrees and graduated cum laude with my bachelors of science and a minor in business admin.
I have been getting a lot of job interviews, although many of them don't even require a degree (their pay is sometimes equal to jobs that do), and I really don't know what number I should be throwing out there. I live in Denver and am mostly looking for jobs on the business side of health.
I am a great employee. I show up on time, don't call in, and I have a list of references whom I know will only have positive things to say.
The minimum wage here is 11.10. Originally I thought I'd be lucky to get $20 an hour but so far some places are ok with that. Should I be asking for more or is that just ridiculous for someone who just graduated and only has a few years of customer service experience. I want to be reasonable but also am curious how much you all think I would be worth at this point.
Thank you in advance.
