I graduated college in 2017, took a year off and now Im getting my mba part-time. I have nearly no HR experience and went in for an HR assistant interview on Wednesday, February 6th. I thought the interview went really well, I spoke to two lower level members and one upper level manager. I just called about a update and they said that they're still interviewing but I seem overqualified because of my degree. I made it clear that I was still a student and that I wouldn't have my degree for at least a year and a half and they said they'll contact me in a week or two. Doesn't seem like I got the job and I don't know why. In general it's been VERY hard for me to get any HR interview so I don't know why they think I'm overqualified....any advice??
