Soooo some background on her.
She's 20, has held two summer jobs and has a high school diploma.
Today I sat down with her and helped her clean up her resume and we got to talk about what she's interested in. She says she'd pretty much do anything outside of fast food which includes office and retail jobs, but in the end she'd really like to work with animals. She also doesn't a phone or license/car, but I'm sure I can find her a cheap phone and I can take her to and from work.
I started browsing last night some jobs that require only a high school diploma and the starting pay is pretty much at minimum wage or barely above. It just seems pretty discouraging from my standpoint but I understand that we all have to start somewhere.
Are there any options to make beyond minimum wage with only a high school diploma? She's not interested in sales or waitressing (she's a bit shy/anti-social like me) but there has to be some kind of great opportunity for her, right?
