Hello! I just started working in a marketing company and the reason why I accepted the job was that I was interested to work with and learn from the manager that interviewed me (Susan.) During my first day of work, I was shocked to find out that they assigned me to someone else. Although the new manager is nice, I don't feel like I will learn much from him. Because I'm a fresh graduate, they gave me a low salary. And they said they wanted me to gain "experience" by joining this company.
Now it's been two weeks since I started working, I feel like although the company has many cool clients, I am assigned to work with the most boring ones. Fortunately, I still got to work with Susan. But I feel like it would've been better if I was working under her assistance. I basically need to get the approval of my "manager" when creating designs (he is the creative director) and then submit it to Susan. And many times Susan doesn't approve that posts that were suggested by my manager. So I'd have to work on them again. Why do you think they assigned me to work with this manager from the first place? And do you think it's too late to ask to work with Susan?
I will be having a meeting with the HR manager next month, and she told me to tell her if I have any complaints during that meeting. In addition, she told me that my manager will have to write a set of goals about me that I will need to achieve during the year. I don't think he knows me well to write the goals...
