I studied and graduated in US but I've been working in China for the past 6 years.
Starting next week I will have to quit my job and come back to the states. I'll have no friends, no family, and about $15k of savings, I also cannot provide reference for my job in China, making my work history very sketchy. On the up side I have no debts either and I can go wherever I want.
My biggest priority right now is to quickly get back on my feet, so I'm wondering where and how to apply for appropriate jobs. I don't know if I'm being realistic; but I'm guessing maybe a shelving clerk, or barista, or kitchen staff kind of job is my best bet for immediate employment that puts me back on my feet.
Any advice, be it where to go, what career to pursue, how to tell my story, etc, would be greatly appreciated.

- Male, 30, Asian, US citizen
- 6 years experience in food industry, managed team of 8, in charge of several restaurant related start up in China
- 2 years of experience in agriculture and restaurant service in US
- MBA (not sure if I should even mention this, given my sketchy work history)
