I'm a salaried engineer, but I'm asked to work on the weekend. Should I decline?

We've been putting in a lot of hours recently, but I can understanding working overtime on weekdays, but weekend is kind of off limit to me.

The "project leader" (not my real boss, but kind of a "dotted line" relationship) asked me to work this weekend (Sat, Sun), probably full days.

I said "ok", but now I'm second guessing my decision. Can they force me? Should I ask for "comp days" during next week to make up for it?
