I quit my previous 2 jobs without a 2-week notice. Here are the reasons why, they don't justify my actions but this is why I quit without notice.
Job 1: Worked for 2 months before a shooting occurred at the entrance. We were told we would be fired if we left the building, after they held a meeting in which the manager told us those that left during the shooting would be penalized. Several walked out but I stayed, then 2 weeks later I was told they wouldn't work around my college schedule due to the increased volume in work. I left that day and did not return.
Job 2: Worked for 3 months. I was told by several people including the manager they would be willing to work with my schedule. When it came time for exams, they refused to give me time off. I had to leave so I called out sick for the day, and we had a meeting with HR where they allowed me to resign.
I have gotten 5 call center interviews (passed 3) but after they do the employment check they rescind the offer. I feel so stuck. Both jobs are call center positions for customer service.
Was college a mistake? Have I made myself unhireable to future employers?
