Hi guys, just had a quick question on how I should go about answering this LinkedIn message I got from an HR representative. I’m a CNA, and while I’m not actively looking for another job (I’m fairly content where I am, close to home and good pay), but I still like to see who is hiring and what’s going on with the local hospitals.
Anyway, I got a message from a recruiter from a Home Health company asking me if I would be interested in talking to them about an open position. They’re located in the next state over, about a 45 minute drive, and I’m not interested. The company has great reviews on Indeed and Glassdoor, which is great! They seem really nice, but I’m not actively looking at this moment.
My question is, how should I phrase that I am not looking for employment right now? I don’t want to burn that bridge unless I ever needed it, though I don’t see myself working for this company, I still don’t want to just not reply if that makes sense.
I kind of started a message and want to see if it sounds okay so far, please bear with me, and if you guys have any advice, please feel free to let me know what you would do or say!
“Hello, thank you so much for reaching out to me. At this time, I am not currently seeking employment, but am impressed with your company and it’s values. I appreciate the time you took to reach out-“
That’s about as far as I’ve gotten. I don’t really want to say anything like keep in touch, or that I will keep it in mind, because I don’t think I’ll ever look into this company again, I just don’t know how to end the message. Plus, with caregiving, it seems like there are a lot of interconnected social webs between people and companies, especially where I live in the PNW, so I don’t want to snub them and then maybe later down the road try to get another job and something bad happens because of it. I overthink sometimes, but any advice, again, would be appreciated! Thank you!
